Benedictine monk and medievalist specialist of Romanesque art, Dom Angelico Surchamp (1924-2018) was also a painter, author and publisher. In 1951, he founded the Zodiac editions which published, under his direction, more than 200 books on the history of art in general and on Romanesque art in Europe in particular. A master of abstract art, he also created paintings and frescoes that reconcile the Church and modern art.
